DHI is an integral part of the Danish innovation and research community. As one of seven Danish Research and Technology Institutes (RTO; in Danish Godkendt Teknologisk Service, GTS), DHI is not only committed to innovation and research, but also to sharing such knowledge with stakeholders and other researchers – and PHISHES joins this effort wholeheartedly.
To foster this collaborative spirit with fellow researchers, potential benefactors of DHI’s innovation, and RTO advisory board members, DHI hosted a Research and Innovation Day on 28 August 2025, at their headquarters in Hørsholm, Denmark. The event brought together more than 70 external guests from universities, companies, SMEs, NGOs, think tanks and water authorities. Keynote addresses included speakers from the Danish RTO association, the Confederation of Danish Industries and the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
The day was about exchanging knowledge and stimulating discussions with the RTO advisory board members on the needs for research and innovation within the five focus areas of DHI’s RTO contract with the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science.
The PHISHES project falls under DHI’s focus area Climate Adaptation and Resilience, and attendees for the special session included representatives from Copenhagen University, the Danish Technical University, the Geological Survey of Greenland and Denmark (GEUS) and the utility HOFOR. Alexandra Murray presented the recently developed PHISHES Digital Platform concept to the group, which was warmly received, in particular by the authorities. It was agreed upon in the group that there is a clear need for new tools, such as the PHISHES Digital Platform, that can allow for research-based technology and models to be applied and used more broadly and effectively.
The DHI Research and Innovation Day was a clear success and is already scheduled to be repeated next year, in late August 2026. This aligns perfectly with the halfway point of the PHISHES project, and it is already planning to attend again and further disseminate the project work.
